Description

What is right and what is wrong? And who gets to decide? Here, a burst of earth tone colors form several subjects: an amorphous shape appears to float as if suspended from the canvas, rectangular shapes in the background seem both fixed and falling, whilst a single flower and the incomplete and obscure figures of women appear closer to the viewer. Yet the scene feels delightfully ambiguous due to the use of my drip painting technique. It is a playful interaction between form and color that conveys a sense of perspective and depth to achieve a sort of non-objective sensation. Such is the purpose of this work, which was painted after an argument with my husband. “Love is not objective”, he said. Therefore, nobody is truly right or wrong.
